Alpha Estate Alpha one magnum 2015, 1.5L

Alpha one is the flagship wine from maker Alpha Estate, this wine is among the absolute best in Greece. Suitable for special occasions. The grape variety used for this wine is the winemaker's choice. The best 17 barrels from each harvest are selected by the winemaker to present the absolute expression and dynamism of the Amyndeon winemaking zone. This magnum is from the 2015 release, the grape varieties used for Alpha One this year are montepulciano 70% - tannat 30%.

Skin contact under controlled conditions, alcoholic fermentation at gradually rising temperatures, maintenance of the wine "sur lie" for eight months under regular stirring. Thirty-six months in Allie Bertrange at 200% (18+18) new oak barrels medium toast. No treatment or filtration before bottling and eighteen months in bottles. Fine, rich, intense. Some black fruit, spice, cassis. Quite complex, very long. Develops very well on the palate.

Pairings:

Pairs well with rich meat dishes, grilled or with rich sauces, cooked with vegetables, carrots and wine. Marinated game, with chestnuts and prunes. Full-bodied mature creamy cheeses with an intense and full flavour.
