Monsieur Nicola Messenicola, 750 ml

Made from the eponymous variety grown in Messenicolas (Black Messenicola 70% - Syrah & Carignan 30%), this wine is an ambassador for Greek wines around the world. Full, long finish with aromas of flowers and forest fruits and soft tannins. The ruby red colour evokes memories of its long history and French origins. Aged one year in small French oak barrels, the wine can continue to age in bottle for another 10 years.

Black Messenicola is a truly unique grape that blooms exclusively in the vineyards around the village of Messenicolas. Originating from the region's loamy soil and nourished by the moisture of nearby Lake Plastiras, this black grape variety is considered a hidden treasure of Greek viticulture. The famous Black Messenicola, which is usually fermented together with the French varieties Syrah and Carignan to obtain a full-bodied red wine with an intense, "round" taste and aromas of forest fruits, has been designated as a true PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) wine.
